1 Wilson talking

After much deliberation, I decided to start a new blog at www.onewilsontalking.com. We will continue updating this one as we are motivated to do so but I have another direction in mind for the other blog that justifies two of them, I think. In the meantime, thanks for following and check out my other blog if you are up to it.

Jerusalem to Cairo

On April 11 we took a five hour bus ride to the Israeli border town on the Red Sea called Eilat. We stayed one night there to get a visa to Egypt early the next morning and continue on. From there we crossed the border into Egypt at Taba, on the Egyptian side of the Red Sea, and then took a 6 hour car ride to Cairo. All in all it was a smooth journey with no significant hang ups. The scenery is pretty spectacular as you drive along the Red Sea and then over the mountains and into the desert toward Cairo.

Red Sea on Egyptian side. it is actually much nicer water and scenery than the Israel side.

water looks great. i wanted to jump in the whole time but we were on a schedule and it was a bit cold. maybe next time...

yushu earthquake

You have probably read about this in the news by now. It is one of the main towns we worked in while in China. Our best friend from the area and his dad are dead along with many others. Please pray that as many as possible would survive this tragedy!

Eilat

We are off to the Israeli/Egypt border today. It is a 5 hours bus ride from Jerusalem. We’ll stay one night in Eilat to get a visa for Egypt and then hopefully go on to Cairo the next day, April 12. We hope to stay 4 nights in Cairo and then fly to Chicago via Abu Dhabi on April 16-17.
